May the fastest one win! Magical Balance and Focus Experiment for Children
There is no need for complex formulas to explain some scientific facts; A playing card and a loaf are sometimes enough! Today, as cizgi.site, we have prepared a wonderful inertia experiment that will both improve children's focusing skills and surprise them.
This game is not limited to just one loaf; You can make the experiment more difficult and increase the excitement with batteries, pencils or small stones at home!
Required Materials
1 empty glass bottle (the mouth should not be too wide).
1 playing card or a hard business card.
To put on: Nut, pen, battery or coin.
Try it Step by Step
1. Installation:
Place the bottle on a flat surface. Place the bottle over it, completely covering its mouth with the playing card.
2. Positioning the Object:
Place the object of your choice (e.g. nut) on the point of the card that corresponds exactly to the mouth of the bottle. Precision here is the key to success!
3. Magic Move (Quick Draw):
Now the real excitement begins. Quickly tap the edge of the card horizontally with your finger or pull the card very quickly in one move.
4. Result:
If you are fast enough, the card will fly away while the object on it will stay where it is and fall directly into the bottle by gravity!
❓ The Fun Side of Science: What's Happening?
This experiment proves the principle of Inertia, Newton's First Law of Motion. Objects want to maintain their current state unless an external force acts on them. When you pull the board too quickly, there is not enough time to transmit a horizontal force to the nut on it. The nut wants to stay where it is, and when the card slides out from under it, it succumbs to gravity and says "hello" to the bottle!
